We’re so proud of our Blossom Barns team, who were recently finalists at the Farmer Rural Awards 2025 in the category of Educational Initiative of the Year! While they didn’t walk away with the win this time, being recognised as a finalist is a great credit to the team’s hard work and commitment to make Blossom Barns a fantastic place to be.
The awards, attended by three members of the Blossom Barns team, were hosted by The Farmer in association with the Shropshire Star on Wednesday 22nd October at Shrewsbury Town Football Club. They recognise and reward the organisations, businesses and individuals who work to ensure the rural community continues to thrive.
Opened in December 2024, Blossom Barns is a farm-based day opportunity for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism where people can build on existing skills and learn new ones by participating in a range of activities with a focus on horticulture and animal husbandry.
Of the awards, Ceri Burgess, Blossom Barns’ Manager said:
“We were proud to be nominated and shortlisted for the Education initiative award. Blossom Barns facilitates a wide range of learning opportunities both in agriculture and health and social care sectors, blending the two to create a supportive outdoor space where people can grow their knowledge, skillset and confidence. The running of Blossom barns is a team effort and all involved should be very proud of to be recognised in this category.”
We’d like to congratulate all the award winners and nominees for all of their brilliant work!
