We have an exciting new opportunity in Shropshire for a Service Manager who can share in Bethphage’s values. As the Service Manager you will provide high quality support to adults with learning disabilities and Autism, ensuring they are supported to develop and maintain independence, take part in community activities, Leisure, education and work opportunities in a person-centred way.

The role will involve you leading the day-to-day management of supported living services providing effective management for people with learning disabilities and Autism. You will ensure your teams provide high quality support to develop and maintain the supported people’s independence, take part in community activities, leisure, education and work opportunities of the person’s choice.

The ideal person will be an experienced health and social care manager, a good communicator, able to network and work with people at all levels. They should be confident and knowledgeable of the sector, able to get on with the role and deal with issues, knowing when to seek help and advice. They will be able to use IT and write legibly, have significant experience of working and managing in the health and social care sector and an understanding of person-centred and positive behaviour support.

Candidates who do not have a level 5 qualification but are prepared to work towards this will be considered so long as they have suitable management experience and professional knowledge in the sector, ideally in learning disability.

  • Previous supervisory experience essential.
  • Good literacy skills are essential.
  • Good IT knowledge/skills is desirable.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Participating in the on-call Rota is a requirement.
  • Although this post is off Rota, there may be times when the service manager may need to work some support shifts to meet the needs of the service. which could include evenings and weekends.
