Bethphage Celebrates Vaccine Roll Out!

Bethphage are  delighted that the vaccine roll out has reached  our front line support workers. Many of our colleagues have now had their first dose of the vaccine as well as a number of the people we support including Andrew in this photo.  We are also pleased that over 65% of our Shared Lives carers have been vaccinated. This is in addition to the recently rolled out weekly testing of staff which gives the people we support, our colleagues and their family’s extra layers of protection against coronavirus; in addition to the infection control measures we have had in place.

Bethphage’s Head Of Operations, Helen Burton said,

“It is fantastic so many of our colleagues have taken up the opportunity of being vaccinated, often give very short notice. Our staff are facing very challenging times, working tirelessly to keep the people we support safe during this pandemic. The vaccination roll out means that we can start to see a way through. We continue to remain vigilant though, and maintain the same high levels of infection control measures such as wearing PPE, social distancing and additional cleaning as we know that vaccination takes time to develop an immune response and it is still unclear the degree to which being vaccinated prevents you from transmitting the virus to other people.”
