We are thrilled to welcome Anna Krauss to our Bethphage Board of Trustees.
Anna is the General Secretary of the Council of Lutheran Churches in Great Britain.
She grew up in Bavaria/Germany and studied Protestant Theology in Germany and Scotland. She specialised in the Dead Sea Scrolls, ancient manuscripts found in the Dead Sea valley, and worked as a researcher at Heidelberg and Oxford University.
In her current job, she is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Council of Lutheran Churches. The Council is a charity which supports different Lutheran churches across the UK. The people in these churches come from across the globe and form a small, but vibrant and multicultural community.
Anna said:
“I am very happy to be a Bethphage Trustee. It is important both for us at the Lutheran Council and for me personally to support people who, through no fault of their own, can sometimes be forgotten by society. It was a wonderful discovery that the Council has always had links with Bethphage, and I am proud to follow in the footsteps of my predecessors in becoming a trustee. I have learned a lot about the important work of Bethphage in the last six months and I look forward to supporting the charity to the best of my abilities. I hope it will not be much longer before I can finally meet the people being supported by and working at Bethphage.”
Derek Lum, Chair of Trustees said:
“The Board are delighted that Anna has agreed to become a Bethphage Trustee. She has attended the last two quarterly virtual Board Meetings and Trustee discussions as part of her induction process. Her analytical skills and extensive experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams are clear to see and further strengthens the Board’s range of expertise. Anna’s role as General Secretary of the Council of Lutheran Churches also strengthens Bethphage’s links with one of the organisation’s two corporate members. We are all looking forward to working with Anna and, when it is safe to do so, to welcoming her in person to Bethphage.”
