We are incredibly proud to celebrate Dylan, one of our dedicated support workers at Arden Place in Birmingham, who was recently invited to Windsor Castle for a special reception honouring carers across the United Kingdom!
Dylan attended the event as part of his role on the Care Worker’s Charity Champions Board, where he has been an active advocate for the social care sector for the past two years. The reception brought together care professionals from across the country and offered a rare opportunity to meet His Majesty the King and Queen in recognition of their valuable contributions.
A Day to Remember at Windsor Castle
The afternoon began with a walk through the grounds of Windsor Castle, followed by a reception where guests were welcomed with refreshments.
One of the most memorable moments came when the King and Queen arrived alongside the Prime Minister. As guests mingled, Their Majesties made a point of speaking to every individual in attendance, with the King personally introducing himself to each guest. Dylan described the experience as both surreal and inspiring.
To mark the occasion, all attendees received a personal letter of thanks from the King and Queen.
Dylan’s Work at Arden Place
Dylan has worked at Arden Place since 2022 and is known for his compassion and dedication. His passion for social care, shaped by his experiences following his own autism diagnosis, drives his commitment to ensuring those he supports feel understood and heard. Alongside his role, his work with the Care Worker’s Charity has also seen him contribute to sector advocacy and recruitment campaigns.
While attending a royal reception is a remarkable achievement, Dylan’s greatest impact can be seen in the everyday moments he shares with the people he supports.
Recently, Dylan organised a trip to a vintage car show with some of the gentlemen at Arden Place, an outing sparked by a shared interest in country and western music. After introducing them to the genre, Dylan helped turn this new interest into visits to a local country and western bar, which was also hosting the car show.
Dylan’s invitation to Windsor Castle is a testament to his dedication, not only to the people he supports at Arden Place, but to the wider social care community. We’re delighted to see his efforts recognised on such a special occasion.
