Thomas Triumphs at Film Festival!

Congratulations to Thomas, whose film was recently screened at the Borderlines Film Festival!

Thomas’ film, “Racism: The Ugly Face of Football”, was created as a part of the BeDirect film project at Oak Farm. BeDirect is a project that supports people to develop video-making skills including storyboarding, filming and editing. The topic of this film is something that Thomas is very passionate about. He entered his film into the ‘Open Screen’ programme of films made by local filmmakers from Herefordshire, Powys, Shropshire and Worcestershire. Representing the counties where our festival is screened.

Thomas made this short film because: “deep down it makes me sad seeing Racism in the world of football. I would really like to have more support for my project, and I would like to hear from other people about my film. It will make the voice stronger.”

The film was accepted by the judging panel and was screened at the Courtyard Cinema in Hereford. Thomas attended with family and friends to see the premiere of his film and took part in a Q&A where the audience had the chance to ask him questions about the film.

He was supported by Tim Sambrook, our Digital Outreach Worker top create this film.
