Bethphage celebrates National Volunteers Week at Our Space Community Centre and Library

To celebrate national volunteers’ week, we brought together our Ellesmere volunteers for a drop in afternoon at Our Space Community Centre and Library on Thursday, 6th June.

Recognising the valuable contribution volunteers bring to Our Space, Manager Rachel Davies said:

The team at Our Space wanted to host a fabulous THANK YOU event for our volunteers that donate so much of their time, knowledge and skills to support the service in so many ways; from home library visits, community events and projects, teen book clubs, working with people that use the Day Ops with their skills and wellbeing and so so much more. Volunteers make such a positive impact to the people that go to Our Space, the local community and enhance what we are able to offer them.”

As well as showing appreciation, the afternoon promoted the range of volunteering opportunities across Bethphage.

Area Manager, Xee Davies added:

“we know that people volunteer for lots of different reasons, whether that is to learn new skills or to share their knowledge and expertise with people who may not otherwise get to benefit. It could be a great way to help someone get back into the jobs market, equally someone recently retired may want to maintain their skills and make the most of their free time. Volunteering also brings people together, and has helped build our sense of community here at Our Space, helping to make it a thriving community hub that brings together people from different backgrounds with different experiences.”

Bethphage’s CEO Stef Kay was also at the event, Stef explained why she was there:

“I wanted to be here in person to meet and thank our fantastic volunteers for their contribution to Bethphage volunteers are at the core of many communities and Our Space is very fortunate to have a thriving volunteer community. Their roles are diverse and important to Our Space and I wanted to thank everyone for everything they do and long may it continue”

If you are interested in volunteering at Our Space or at any Bethphage service then please contact recruitment@bethphage.co.uk or call 01743272880 to discus what opportunities we have available.
