Earlier today, Bethphage’s Service Manager for Shrewsbury West Services, Ceri Lewis was thrilled to meet with Jackie Millward from Jane Lewis Healthcare to receive a cheque for The Lodge Gardening Project.
The Lodge has a large communal garden with great potential but sadly the people that live there lack the funds to do little more than plant a few flowers. We know that gardening is great for people’s mental and physical wellbeing which is why the staff team were really supportive when the people who live at The Lodge specifically asked for a gardening project to be set up.
Jackie, on behalf of Jane Lewis very kindly offered to fundraise for the garden project and organised a charity dog walk at Battlefield Heritage Site, which was held on 19th August. The event was a great success and along with sponsorship money collected, we raised a running total of £400 (and counting!) Ceri, her team and the people that live there are really excited about the opportunities this money will give them to develop the garden and they cannot wait to get started! Thanks to everyone that has donated so far and an extra special thanks to Jackie from Jane Lewis!
Finally, it is not too late to support us, if you wish to make a donation then please click here to go to Bethphage’s My Donate designated fundraising page. Check out our Facebook page for further updates as the project progresses! Happy gardening!
