They play a vital role in ensuring that health and social care data is used responsibly to support the delivery of better care through ensuring that the 6 principles, identified by the Caldicott Committee in relation to handling sensitive data for patients and people receiving social care support, are upheld. Originally these roles applied to the NHS and Local Authorities only.<\/p>\n<p>In line with the public consultation entitled \u201cCaldicott Principles: a consultation about revising, expanding and upholding the principles.\u201d in 2020 and the ensuing guidance, Bethphage has reviewed the need to have a Caldicott Guardian within the Organisation. The role will ensure best practice is followed when handling sensitive data relating to the people we support.<\/p>\n<p>The executive management team has identified that the role will sit within the Quality Team and<strong> Clare Shaw<\/strong> will be the named person.<\/p>\n<p>Bethphage takes the management of data very seriously, ensuring that we manage all sensitive data carefully and within the requirements of the General Data Processing Regulations (GDPR).
