The Board of Bethphage are delighted to announce that, following interview, Stef Kay (formerly Operations Director) has been formally appointed as Deputy Chief Executive of Bethphage. Stef (who has been acting Deputy CEO for the last five months) and the enlarged Executive Management Team (EMT) have successfully retained IIP Gold in the recent final part of the review against the new tougher standards, secured new contracts for complex services in Shropshire, and completed the negotiation of the purchase of the Head Office building. Over the coming months Stef and the EMT will be creating next year’s business plan and reviewing the charity’s strategic plan. Given that Stef is currently fulfilling two very demanding roles it is very clear that that we must now recruit a Head of Operations to take on a large part of Stef’s day to day operations responsibilities. Stef in her new role will continue to oversee operations ensuring that Bethphage’s increasingly demanding standards and plans are delivered.
In the review of the business and strategic plans the team will identify the skills and resources required by Bethphage to deliver those new plans. In conjunction with the Board the team will also create the revised job description and the person specification of the CEO we believe that we will need to take Bethphage forward in its next phase of growth. An appointment of a new CEO is a very important step and the Board and the EMT are of the view that things are progressing well at present, with Stef and the Board currently covering many aspects of the role of CEO. We therefore have time to conduct a very thorough review process focusing on the future CEO role and will be doing this during 2020 in the knowledge that we have a very strong, new, and developing team currently leading Bethphage.
