After much anticipation, Bethphage were delighted to be handed the keys today for our new, purpose built development, Robin House.
Working in partnership with Shropshire Council and First Choice Housing, Bethphage will be moving the three people they currently support in a residential care home in Shrewsbury, into Supported Living accommodation.
Robin House is a purpose built bungalow, also in Shrewsbury. Bethphage will continue to support the three people moving there and First Choice will act as landlords for the property. Service Manager, Amy Parkes and Team Leader, Jason Tidy were at Robin House for the handover and met with Jez Goddard, Development Officer for First Choice Housing along with representatives from Shropshire Council.
Amy Parkes said of Robin House, “Wow! What can I say? The new building ‘Robin House’ is fantastic, the spacious, light, airy rooms with large garden space is going to benefit the people we currently support at Old Farm House. We look forward to the following few weeks where the team and I will work together to make the smoothest transition and transform Robin House into their new home.”
Robin House is suitably adapted to meet each individual’s needs and the move will enable them to have more choice and control over their lives so that Bethphage staff can support them to maximise their independence in a more appropriate setting.
Over the next month, Bethphage will complete furnishing of the property and will be working closely with Shropshire Council to ensure the people we support will experience the smoothest transition possible from their move to Robin House. Bethphage’s CEO Peter Loose said, “ Robin House provides an exciting opportunity for the people we will support there to enjoy more independence and a really good standard of living whilst continuing to enjoy the continuity of care and support from the Bethphage staff team.”
